4 MORE POINTS AND ONE MORE SHUTOUT
Despite playing with a short bench the Legion Hawks pickup 4 more points and get Nolan Williams another shutout, that is 5 shutouts for the team with 4 of during league play.  Kaiden and Nolan both made it back into the lineup this weekend after battling some nasty colds and they were certainly needed as we played with 4 D on Saturday vs the "other" Hagersville team and 3 D on Sunday vs Cayuga.

Our Captain scored the only of the goal near the midpoint of the game to give the team a boost of energy.  The opposition played with some jump in their step but Nolan Williams stood guard in front of the twine and cleared shots away from the net.  It was definitely an end to end battle with both teams clearing pucks quickly and standing up to the opposition in the neutral zone.  With only seconds remaining they got a breakaway opportunity for an exciting finish with a big save, even though our goalie says "it was an easy save, came out to take the net away and let him shoot at me... and I knew my Defense would take care of the rebound".  Our defense did just that as the puck was banged outside of our end.  Not our best game by any means but certainly one of our better finishes... hanging on to a one goal has been a bit of a struggle lately but no one was letting this one slip away.

On Sunday these little Hawks were flying high and soaring all over the ice with convincing 5-2 Win over the same Cayuga team that managed a Tie in our last bout with only 1 second remaining on the clock.  Noah picked up a Hat Trick with additional goals from Rylan and Colin.  It was a 2 - 2 game going into the third period but these kids had seen enough stars by start of the third and convincingly put that back in place, solid forechecking and smart defense gave us 2 more points for a solid 3rd place standing.  Eliza got player of the game and although she didn't find the back of the net she provided plenty of scoring opportunities and certainly set a good example of hard work.

We have a practice in Hagersville Monday night at 6 and then we will see everyone AT 12 on Friday for our first game at the DQ challenge cup.  It looks like about 1 1/2 hour drive from Hagersville and everyone should be there AT LEAST an hour early so the kids can stretch their legs and shake off the long boring drive.  Please watch the weather forecast as the date gets closer so that departure times can be adjusted appropriately.  I will also be sending a mass email to find out who is interested in having the buffet dinner offered at the hotel as we need to notify them 3 days ahead of time.  We will be looking at that for Saturday as Friday will be a full day of travel, check-ins, and hockey.

GO HAWKS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
