The Pee Wees started the final push for a spot in the league semi-finals with a game against Burford on Wednesday, February 18th.  Despite two weeks having passed since the last game, the team came out strong and had a solid opening period with good puck possession, lots of digging and shots on net.

This carried into the second as the offense created some great scoring chances to start.  A penalty in the beginning of the frame didn’t slow down the momentum as Travis Phibbs got the puck in the neutral zone and skated in and around the defense to net a short-handed goal.  The excitement was short lived as Burford scored a minute later but a late power play allowed Jordan Guetter to sneak around from behind to squeeze the puck through.

Hagersville took the 2-1 lead into the third but Burford was on the attack and pressing hard.  The lead was cushioned as Logan Scott got control in front of the net and sent the puck in with less than a minute remaining.  Those final seconds went by slowly with Burford adding one more with just 13 seconds to go.  Time was on their side as our Pee Wees secured the win in a well played game to maintain a good position in the standings
