The Pee Wees found themselves in the position of
comeback kids on Wednesday, February 25th as they had an early start
in St. George. After falling behind by
two in the first and allowing another goal in the second, the team was in a
three goal deficit heading into the final period
Jordan Guetter gave the team a boost as he made a beautiful shot that reached the top corner. Emma Campbell assisted on the goal. Within the next minute, Travis Phibbs made a spin-around effort to get the puck through, assisted by Dusty McKeen and Logan Scott. Moment later, Logan Scott popped one in to tie the game.
St. George called a time-out to settle things down, spawning a long stretch of scoreless play. Both teams worked hard to break the tie and the game was intense as the clock wound down. Just when it looked like they would split the points, Travis Phibbs maneuvered around the defense and sent the puck into the net with less than a minute remaining. The Hawks held on in the final seconds to complete the comeback and skate away with another playoff win.
