Two Days, Two Games by Jenn Russell
On January 16th the Novice Hawks LL9 played host to the Caledonia 2 team.  Hagersville’s Koen Berkel scored the Hawks only goal in the first assisted by Devyn Russell and Owen Young.

Caledonia tied up the board, in the second, on the power play and took the win, in the third, when they scored one more.

On January 17th it was the Hawks traveling to face the Caledonia Mad Dogs.  The board remained scoreless for both sides in the first. Cameron Coffey made some fantastic saves for his team as he saw a lot of action in his end.  It was Caledonia that managed to score three consecutive goals, in the second,  taking the lead, but Emmitt Houwer found the puck on the end of his stick, for a breakaway goal, after he sped down the ice before the second ended.

Caledonia scored another early in the third, but the Hawks came to within one when Emily Walton sent the puck behind Caledonia’s net to Devyn Russell, who looked for the slot, sneaking it out front to Avery Heaslip to finish the job.  Heaslip landed another when he and Noah Reicheld found themselves skating into Caledonia's zone, on a two on none.  Unfortunately, Caledonia’s luck continued, when they sank two more taking the win 6 – 3.  The Hawks should be proud as they played a great weekend of hockey.
