On Wednesday, October 20th the Hawks hosted the
St.George Generals. We were hungry for a win after a tough weekend in the
Caledonia Cup Tournament.
During the 1st Period, the Hawks came out eager to score and the St.George goalie had to make many saves. Our defensemen stopped many St.George breakaways, knocking the puck off their sticks and sticking with it to get it turned back around toward the opposing team’s end. Cameron Schweitzer put the hawks on the board with a goal in the 1st, assisted by Carson Bacher and Kaellum Meyer.
The Hawks gained momentum in the 2nd period, and were able to score 2 more goals, and shutting down the St.George team. Hard work and perseverance resulted in a goal scored by Quintin Salverda, assisted by Stephen Reidy and Cameron Schweitzer. Cameron Schweitzer scored again, assisted by Stephen Reidy.
During the 3rd Period, the Hawks continued to create scoring chances for themselves, and Ethan Kett was able to get a hard shot past the goalie, with the assist going to Ryerson Kett and Stephen Reidy.
