The Hawks hosted Plattsville Rage tonight, and being just
one point difference in the standings, it was sure to be a good game.
Our team came out a little shaky, with some players in new positions. Despite our best efforts, Plattsville came out ahead 3-0 at the end of the first.
The second period the Hawks showed determination to keep the puck in their own end. The defense showed great passing to create breakout opportunities for our forwards. Our forwards had many scoring chances, but the Plattsville goalie had great saves to counteract our efforts. He was quick on covering the puck too, which took away our chances at rebounds. We were able to reduce the Plattsville lead to one goal, with 2 goals as a result of hard work and passing. Great job, guys!
The third period we were determined to net a few more goals, but the Rage goalie was just too strong. We shut down many breakaways, and our forwards were remembering to skate back and help out our defense.
The final score was 6-2, for Plattsville, but the score does not represent the game played by our Hawks. A fabulous game with team work and determination, which is what everyone loves to cheer on from the stands.
