OMHA's Continue by Jenn Russell
The Hagersville Bantam Reps hosted the Six Nations Blackhawks for the second game in their OMHA series on February 1st.  Hagersville hit the ice strong, determined to not make it easy for the Blackhawks.

Win Cooper put the Hawks first goal on the board, with just over 3 minutes left in the first, assisted by Cole Campbell and Jordan Guetter.  Six Nations were able to answer back before the period ended evening the board once again.

In the second, Brody Smith landed an awesome shot adding to his team’s side assisted by Brett Russell and Jade Bacher.  Six Nations once again answered back and the third period started even once again.

It appeared that the Hawks short bench was starting to take its toll in the third.  Jordan Laforme made some fantastic saves the entire game making it look easy.  Six Nations continued to drive the Hawks net and was successful 3 more times this period.  The Hawks gave it all they could but unfortunately it wasn’t enough as the Blackhawks took the second game in this series 5-2.  Good try boys.

The Hawks headed to Ohsweken on February 3rd for a do or die OMHA game.  Six Nations could taste the win but our Hawks came out to play tonight.  The first period was scoreless for both sides.  It was Braden Bond that scored the opening goal in the second, assisted by Win Cooper.  Six Nations came back scoring one of their own and followed with 3 more putting the Hawks down by 3 heading into the third.

The Hawks continued to fight hard to come back but found they could only add one more to their side when Tucker Awalt skated in finding the five hole of the Six Nations goalie assisted by Daxton Wybinga and Travis Phibbs.  As the clock continued to count down the Hawks found the hopes of their OMHA series slipping away but held their heads high when the final buzzer sounded.  Good try Hawks you gave it your best shot.
