YOUR BENCH STAFF
Hi Team, just a brief introduction of our team staff and there will be plenty more articles as the season goes on.  I usually write our articles but if anyone else is interested or wants to give it a shot then please let me know, we can get you access to our website or you can email the article to me and I can post it for you.  Now on to the bench staff intro.

Head Coach - Adam Binek
Adam is in his 7th season of coaching in HMHA and there are a handful of kids on the team that have been with Adam every season along the way.  Adam is a great coach, he works hard planning practices, recognizes strengths and weaknesses in individuals and in the team as a whole and will work with each kid to improve on both.  Adam is not a hugs and kisses kind of coach to say the least but I can assure you that YOUR kids will share lots of smiles and laughs with Adam over the course of this season.    I can also assure you that your kids will learn and improve on skills as the season progresses but as much as we expect Adam to teach our kids the skills required to play the game and succeed Adam has some expectations of your kids as well.

Be respectful of your teammates, your parents the coaches and all volunteers in HMHA.
Be at practice and when you will not be able to attend make sure he is aware of when and why you will not be there.
LISTEN on the ice, on the bench and in the dressing room.
Absolutely no playing hockey in the hallways!  This is not something Adam will tolerate at all.
Have fun in the dressing and on the ice but, horseplay and inappropriate behaviour will also not be tolerated.
Come to every game and practice with a positive attitude, support your teammates and have some fun on the ice.
Adam is also our Field Evaluator on the HMHA Executive and is responsible for coach evaluations and selections.

Assistant Coach - Brandon (PUG) Udell
Pug is a close friend of Adams and this his second season with HMHA, he has no kids on this team but does have 2 kids that play in Tyke in Hagersville.  Pug helps Adam because he loves to coach and I can assure you he has the skills to help.  Pug does share some of Adam's expectations but there is one thing your kids will hear a lot from him over the course of the season and it is something he expects at every game.............. SMILE!

Assistant Coach - Brian Berkel
Brian has been around HMHA for many years and sons in Novice, Peewee and Midget categories.  Always willing to help and is an Assistant Coach with one of the Midget LL teams as well as being a Director on the HMHA Executive.  I think Brian will be a great addition to the coaching team.

Jason Gallagher - Trainer
Jason has been with Adam for most of the 6 years in HMHA, in addition to being a trainer he is also a volunteer Firefighter and Captain with the Hagersville Fire Department and has more volunteer hours than anyone else I know as he spent well over a decade as the Trainer for our Junior D and Junior C team.  In addition to the above tasks Jason is also the Vice President of HMHA.

Lloyd Williams - Trainer (and according the website...... manager)
I was as surprised as most of you to see that I somehow got named as Manager, Shannon (who is our HMHA Player Convenor) usually fills that position and with help from her, Katherine and Carrie I am sure we will get everything sorted out somehow.  I have been a Trainer with Adam for all of his time as coach in HMHA and I am President of HMHA.

Lastly I just want to mention quickly that we will be participating in some team fundraisers to help offset tournament costs (we have 2 scheduled), we are entered in our own LL tournament in Hagersville which we get at a discounted price but that it is also expected that we help at the tournament.  I will forward details on those requirements later.

Some team rules:
1. Be respectful of everyone!
2. Be there!  You can't learn to play a team sport without a team to practice with.
3. Earlier mentioned, no hockey in the hallways and NO BUCKETS AND GLOVES.  This game is not acceptable anywhere at the rink.
4. Be at the rink at least 30 minutes prior to any game.
5. Please keep siblings out of the dressing rooms when possible.
6. DO NOT PUT YOUR JERSEY IN YOUR HOCKEY BAG
7. Treat every teammate with equal respect.
8. When coaches talk...... LISTEN.
9. When we travel to other rinks follow the same rules.
10. HAVE FUN!

HAVE A GREAT SEASON!!
