Hawks vs Alymer March 2/18
After a tough series loss to Delhi in the OMHA playoffs where the Hawks played some good hockey but were unable to find the back of the net and ended up losing 1-0 in the final game. The Hawks were back at it Friday night in Alymer to play the undefeated Flames in the southern counties playoffs. With only 2 games remaining the kids knew they needed a great effort against a very strong team. Both teams came out skating hard and had many chances to score but Daxton and Alymers goalie played great making many big saves. The game was scoreless heading into the third until Owen opened the scoring after a great move at the blueline that sent him in alone against the goalie where he made no mistake beating him to high glove side.

The Hawks gained some more energy after this goal and started to control the play more and had many chances to get the important second goal. With just over 2 minutes left Aiden made a play and sent the puck out front of the net and after a few chance to bang in the loose puck by Owen, Ayden was there to finish it off and give the Hawks a 2-0 lead. Alymer came right back with a few chance but Daxton stood tall and shut them down. Hawks win 2-0. The coaches felt this was one of the better games the kids had played in awhile and were impressed with the team effort that was given. Carter,Landen, Bryce and Issac all had great games on defence and all the forwards were skating hard and back checking great. The Hawks look to continue this play when they face Tavistock on Wednesday in their last game before southern counties playoffs. GO HAWKS.
