Starting the Second 1/2 of the Season in the A division
The Hagersville Hawks CGC faced off against Cayuga 5 for their first game in the A season pool on January 11th.

Cayuga was the first to make a move when they scored halfway through the first and then again with 3 minutes left in the second.  Hagersville was not going to go down without a fight however Emmitt Houwer passed the puck over to Devyn Russell that made his way up the boards sending a perfect pass over to Mason Mitchell that was on his way in all alone to land the Hawks first goal of the game.  The tie came in the third when Treyanna Lee Green kept the puck in at the blue line sending it up the boards to Conner Rasberry who sent the puck out front were Houwer landed the perfect one timer shot to give his team the point for the game.  Great game Hawks 2-2 and a good start to our second half of the season.

The Hagersville Hawks played the following night January 12th against Caledonia 3.  The Hawks were down a couple of key players and came out a little sluggish this game but did manage to give it a good go.  Goaltender Calvin Eggink was seeing a lot of action out front and Caledonia only managed to get two by him, one in the first and one in the third.  It was looking like Caledonia was going to go away with a clean sweep but with 8 seconds left in the third Drew Gibbons managed to stuff one in Caledonia’s net with the help of Mitchell to take away the goose egg.  Although a loss 2-1 the Hawks came off the ice with a smile on their faces.

The Hagersville CGC met up against the other Atom Hawks local league 10 team on January 24th in town.   The Hawks 10 are a tough team this season and came out with a vengeance.  Goaltender Calvin Eggink saw and saved a lot of shots and CGC only saw one point on their side from Conner Rasberry in the first with the assistance of Emmitt Houwer and Emily Walton.  Final score 6-1.
