HUNGRY HAWKS
Another game without Kaiden and for this game missing Carly but this group was looking for redemption...... unfortunately for Cayuga they were next in line and the Hawks were hungry for a win.
It was only 32 seconds into the game and the Hawks were on the board and celebration all around after being shut out the game before, Cayuga came back on the next face off looking for a quick goal to get back in the game as they played tough and battled hard along the boards getting the next 5 consecutive shots on net but Nolan was there to weather the storm and we ended the first with a single tally on the board with Dean scoring the only goal and assists for Connor and Sam.
Second period started a lot like the first, the Hawks dug there claws into their prey as the same Hawk struck for his second goal of the game this time unassisted. The second period was all Hawks, 4 more goals in the second period had the kids feeling pretty good and it showed in their gameplay...... Danielle Doolittle picked up another goal keeping her stick on the ice for big rebound, Chase Broker got one unassisted and Dean Eggink picked up his 3rd of the game with just over a minute left in the 2nd period and Nolan wasn't going to be left out of the fun as he stole a breakaway chance from Cayuga late in the period.
Cayuga got another chance and capitalized early in the 3rd period with a PP in their favour to spoil the shutout but it was of little consequence as Chase picked up another goal to open the gap back up to 5 goals with assists for Connor and Danielle. Our Defense played smartly through the last half of the third period and and maintained the score with a comfortable lead.
