ANOTHER CLOSE GAME AND ANOTHER POINT
First home game of the playoffs and it was another good one, not that I would have expected anything less.  A disallowed goal was the difference in this game, a little bit of confusion from the penalty box and a sympathetic referee........ or was it the coach's yelling that changed his mind...... Either way both goalies played a great game and we split the points for the second time in as many games.

The first period had lots of action with some great use of the boards by both teams to clear pucks and good passing through the neutral zone it was a good end to end game but not too many shots on net.  It was 4 minutes into the first period before Caledonia would finally put a shot on the Hawks net and another two minutes passed before the Hawks would put one of two shots in the first period on the visitors goaltender.  Shots on net in the first 2 Hagersville 1 Caledonia.

Second period was more of the same and not really any outstanding plays or opportunities at either end of the ice or maybe I was distracted by the constant yelling from the Caledonia bench or the fans joining the coaches in abusing refs and missed it but there was definitely no scoring and still only a few shots on net.

24 minutes into the game and the tie is finally broken but not for long, there was some confusion about whether or not a kid should have left the penalty box so the goal was waived off and although it was arguable no one took it out on the referees and the scoreboard was calmly returned to 0 - 0.  The last 6 minutes of the game was tense as every attack was a potential victory and the kids from both teams were finally hitting the mark.  After making less than a handful of saves through most of the game the goalies were challenged repeatedly with time winding down but they were both up to the task and kept a point each for their teams.  Another tie break that will have to wait.
