ATOM HAWKS WIN 3 - 1
Wednesday night our team was surprised to arrive in Cayuga missing Noah Michaud but stepped up for the win in his absence.  After a slow start and some trouble getting the puck out of our end Colin Fess got us on scoreboard giving the Hawks the lead at 4:09 of the first period assisted by Laney Mitchell and Riley Wilson.

Cayuga quickly got fired up and finished the period with relentless attacks and pressure in the Hawks end and they continued the attack in the second period but Nolan Williams, standing tall between the pipes kept his team in the game and Cayuga off the scoreboard.  The defense did a good job of clearing rebounds and keeping the shooting lanes clear for Nolan to get a good look at the shots and late in the second period Colin Fess, assisted by Deekyn Bray and Eliza McNeice, took advantage of one of those cleared rebounds as the threesome put a cushion on the hard fought lead.  At 3:59 of the third period Cayuga's hard work paid off as they finally managed to get a puck into the Hawks net giving the Stars some wind in their sales and they were flying again.  Un-intimidated by the Stars speedy forwards and renewed energy, the Hawks D supported their goalie by continuing to clear pucks to the corners and the speedy Rylan McIntee gave his team some insurance late in the third period with assists going to Colin Fess and Rielly Binek.  GREAT JOB HAWKS, let's keep it going when Glanbrook comes to town on Saturday.  Hopefully Noah's hand will be feeling better and he'll join us again on Saturday when we face Glanbrook 7.
