2020-2021 Season Update
Submitted By Dale Held on Monday, September 14, 2020
We know this upcoming season is going to look different.  Through communications from OHF, OMHA and Haldimand County we were given direction on how this season will operate.
Working within these rules and with Caledonia, Cayuga and Dunnville Minor Hockey Associations we have the following structure in place.

We encourage all families to review to previously posted documents (posted Aug 12 and Aug 29) for all the details.

Please select Read More for the season details

The season will be broken up into 2 sections:

-The season will begin around Oct 1st with 2 weeks of development
-Game play of 3 on 3 will begin October 19th and run until December 18th
-There will be a 14 day break from December 19- January 1.
-After the 14 day break, associations will work together to re-access the state of hockey, possibly have a reorganization of the bubbles and the stage of return to play based off OHF and OMHA direction.
-Play could resume as early as January 2nd if there are no changes.

Team Formation and Structure
-Teams will be formed into 2 tiers at all levels U8 and above.
-There will be no tryouts at any level
-"Bubbles" will be formed consisting of a maximum 5 teams per bubble
-All teams will have a maximum 9 skaters and 1 goaltender
-Tier 1 will consist of Rep level players based on previous seasons.
-There will be one team from Hagersville, Cayuga and Dunnville and 2 teams from Caledonia in this bubble.
-Tier 2 teams will be formed by HMHA will all remaining players.  These teams will be designed to be as evenly balanced as possible and will most likley consist of multiple bubbles.
-The formation of bubbles will take place Sept 26th at a meeting consisting of all centers.

This is a constantly changing situation.  HMHA receives direction from both OHF and OMHA.  Please check the website regularly or sign up for notifications for any updates.
