Thank You from our MJA Tournament
The 2022 Murray Johnson Annual Local League Tournament hosted
by Hagersville Minor Hockey was held November 25th-27th.
This year we had a total of 36 teams participate equating to approximately 550
boys and girls.
There were a lot of close games and feedback from the participating teams indicate the tournament was very much enjoyed by all.
Thank you to our wonderful sponsors – The Dairy Farmers of Ontario and Nova Mutual Insurance Company. Your contributions went a long way towards putting smiles on the participants faces.
Thanks also to Godfathers Pizza who ran in overdrive on Friday and Saturday to provide so many pizzas for the tournament.
I would be remiss if I didn’t publicly thank our group of volunteer tournament committee members by name for the long hours put in before and during the tournament: Bob Featherstone, Alex Mendes, Dennis Smith, Logan Davey, Craig McKeen, Lloyd Williams, Ashley Graham, Aaron Doyle, Bill Mumby, Kelly Reichheld, Paul Fryett, Dale Held, Hal Brown and of course Murray Johnson. The tournament wouldn’t happen without these quality people.
I can’t forget to thank some of our local businesses who displayed welcoming messages on their signs welcoming the Murray Johnson Participants to town: Harwill Farms, Sitter Accounting, Simington Automotive, Tim’s Tires, Almas Construction and Bobbi-Jo Meyer.
Thanks to everyone who supported our NHL Jerseys Draw made possible through the gracious donation from the New York Rangers Hockey Club and to Chad Staats for securing the Jerseys.
This tournament means a lot to the participants and Hagersville Minor Hockey but it also means a lot to our community. Planning has already started for next year’s tournament.
