Hawks vs Tillsonburg Tornados
Sunday afternoon the Hawks left the nest and travelled down highway six to Tillsonburg, "my back still aches when I hear that word". The Hawks entered the eye of the storm with goalie Mason Leenders between the pipes. The Tornado's came on strong and managed to put the first point on the board. This ended the first period in a 1-0 lead for Tillsonburg.
The Hawks started to push back and Keaton Gravie, assisted by Dustin Mckeen and Justin Wenzowski, light the board up for the Hawks. That wasn't enough to snuffle out the Tornado's and they took the lead with two more goals before the end of the second.
The third period was important for the Hawks. Keaton Gravie, took flight down the ice for an unassisted goal. Looking to tie the game up, Keaton Garvie, assisted by Dustin McKeen and Troy Clarkson, nailed another one in the net. Keaton can you say hat trick! Just a minute later Dustin McKeen, assisted by Nathanael Ellison and Zack Demille, scored another goal putting the Hawks in the lead. With 5 minutes left the heat was on and the game was fast. With 43 seconds left Tillsonburg tied up the game, ending the third period in a 4-4 tie.
Player of the game was awarded to forward Keaton Garvie.
