DOUSING THE FLAMES
After a lackluster performance in Tillsonburg the Hawks came out flying, it was an exciting end to end battle but these kids weren't going to have any part of Aylmer extending their streak past 6 after ours ended in Tillsonburg.  Coach Adam was still missing but coach Pug got the Hawks ready attack......

It didn't look good early as the Flames were hot and brought a lot of energy built up on a 6 game win streak.  They muscled us off pucks and beat us down the ice numerous times in the first period, Nolan guarded the crease as if his life depended on it.

The puck dropped in the second period and the Hawks took flight while the flames flickered, we flew up and down the ice eliminating the odd man rushes that happened in the first period and the Hawks were in control at home. The flames were getting frustrated and started to attack the crease but that was quickly sorted out as our defense protected the netminder and sent a few kids to their butts!  As we have seen often enough this season, kids can come to the crease but touching the goalie is probably going to cause a problem with your balance.........and at the other end of the our forwards started to hit the mark and it was now up to Aylmers goalie to keep them in the game.

2:28 of the third period and the Aylmer goalie was solved as Wyatt Norman chased down his own rebound and pounded it past the red paint.  The flames got fired up and came with a flurry for a few minutes looking for the equalizer but with our D keeping the front of the net clear Nolan saw everything that came near him and kept the shutout alive.  It was great end to hockey and a lot fun to watch as the ref's let these kids battle it out along the boards, with 6:30 left in the final frame Wesley Patrick rushed the puck up the ice for his first goal of the season and we had some insurance.  A 2 goal lead is all the kids would need as they turned to smart team defense to hold on to the 3rd shutout in just 4 games.  2 - 0 Hagersville and 1 more game to go before Santa comes to visit, it's an exciting time of year off the ice as well and from your team staff............. (I just may not write another article before the BIG day).

HAVE A VERY MERRY XMAS EVERYBODY!!!!!!!
