Some of you may have heard rumor that there will be a Roster
Select Team for Peewee this season, the rumor was true and we are now prepared
to have a tryout and team selection. The
tryout will be on October 30th at 7 pm (currently posted on our website as
Peewee All) and is open to all Peewee LL players, there will be no charge for
the tryout and additional costs will be discussed with parents during selection
process. A quick summary of what a
Roster Select team is and when/where you would play.....
A Roster Select team is comprised of players selected from multiple HL or LL teams in a single center of the same age category to play together for a couple of tournaments and or exhibition games, aka All Star Team. It is our intent to attempt to practice as a team once or twice a month and play in a couple of tournaments FOR FUN and we believe that with the players we have in Peewee LL we will have no problem competing in said tournaments. We have a spot tentatively reserved in a tournament in Hamilton currently which is exclusively for Roster Select Teams and there are several more we could look into later in the season. Many of the tournaments available are local and parent input will be a major determining factor prior to registering in any tournament that would require overnight accommodation.
There is maximum of 3 tournaments/season and 3 exhibition games/month is permitted as well but there is no schedule or league so it is only as agreed by parents and coaching staff. There will be some additional cost associated with the team as we will require home/away jerseys as well as tournament fees, the kids will be able to pick their desired number and will keep the Jerseys.
