Close game versus Caledonia
On Friday January 9th the Hagersville Paul Sports Novice LL9 played an away game versus Caledonia.
The first period was back and forth play with great chances for both teams. Caledonia scored at the end of the first to take the lead. Our team continued to have some great plays that led to some close scoring chances but we just couldn't seem to hit the net or put one past the goalie! Caledonia scored again in the second and added one more mid way through the third to take a 3-0 lead. Our Hawks continued to dig and Gavin Simington skated the puck end to end to score an unassisted goal. Carter Skye -Bluhm followed up a couple minutes later when he too scored an unassisted goal with just 2 minutes remaining in the game. With very little time remaining on the clock, the coaches pulled our goalie for the extra attacker. Caledonia was able to get it back to our end and our defence made some amazing saves lying across the goal line. It was an exciting finish ending in a 3-2 loss. Great game team, we almost had them!
