On Saturday, January 17th we travelled to Cayuga for our last regular season game. The game was our most evenly matched yet.
Our team played fantastic making some great passes and shots on net. The first period was scoreless.
Hagersville worked well as a team keeping the puck in Cayuga's end for the majority of the second period. Despite our strong effort, Cayuga was able to score twice in the second to take the lead. Down 2 goals and with less than 2 minutes left in the second period, our team pulled together to score a couple quick goals just 10 seconds apart.
Grace Taylor scored our first goal assisted by Olivia Doughty. Braeden Heeg followed up with an unassisted goal to tie the game up at the end of the second.
The third period continued strong and Olivia Doughty was able to find the back of the net with assists going to Carly Waldbrook and Gavin Simington.
Cayuga continued to pressure right until the end but our team was able to hold them off for the 3-2 win.
Way to go on another exciting game. A great way to finish off the regular season!
