IT'S GONNA BREAK EVENTUALLY BUT STILL TIED UP
Almost midway into our playoffs and it's pretty clear the seeding for the semi-finals isn't going to make much difference to anyone, all of the teams appear pretty equally matched but my guess........ we're going to be playing Caledonia 3 in the semi final. If I'm right then it's going to be a big disappoint for one of the two teams but if I had to pick one Caledonia team to potentially knock us out in the end this would be the team. From the crease out these teams couldn't be closer and it showed on the scoreboard again in a 1 - 1 Tie
Our fourth meeting and our fourth tie against this team and it was exciting to watch. Great end to end play and a lot of hustle by every player to step off the bench, it was even at 0's at the midway mark of the game with shots and scoring opportunities matched up as well. Shortly after the halfway point Connor found some space to get a hard shot away and the puck spun through the wickets of the Caledonia netminder. Hagersville continued to pressure on the ensuing faceoff and were inches away from the lead as the puck repeatedly went over the crossbar, a step closer or a little lower and the game was ours but we just couldn't hit the mark. Going into the third period the Hawks were still clinging to a slim lead, both teams were battling hard and playing smart defense through 6 minutes of the period when some tired hagersville legs could keep the attacker outside and a forward walked in alone for a nice bar down goal. Neither goalie was going to lose and they both held their teams even for the balance of the game.
