Hawks vs Ayr Flames
Hagersville Atoms headed to Ayr Friday the 23rd, for their first playoff game against the Flames. As the first period was almost over, and it looked like no one would score, Ary took a tripping penalty and Tyler Demille, assisted by Cole Haviland and Wesley Partick, moved in to get the Hawks first goal.

The second period was again a tight back and forth game, both sides getting shots on net but no goals. With 1:56 left on the board, Nate Veldstra assisted by Cole Haviland, hit the net and put the second goal for the Hawks on the board. The second period ended 2-0 for the Hawks.

The third period began with a one man advantage, as Ayr had a penalty. This proved helpful to the Hawks as Chase Bacher got an unassisted goal. The third period would be a challenge for the Hawks as they served 10 minutes worth of penalties, which gave Ayr the opportunity to score two goals. With Ayr on the board and time running low, Ayr pulled their goalie to get a one man advantage. With 13 seconds on the board, Chase Bacher assisted by Cole Haviland, got an empty net goal ending the game with a 4-2 win for the Hawks.

Defenseman Ethan Fess was awarded player of the game.
