The
Hagersville Bantam Reps had a good opportunity to practice playing shorthanded
on December 4th when the team traveled to Port Dover for an evening
game. Dover saw almost the same amount
of the game from inside the pen but did find a chance to put the first point on
the board.
Hagersville’s Logan Scott evened the score up once again, just over a minute later in the first, as a scuffle took place in front of Dover’s net. No assists were recorded but numerous sticks were involved in this play.
The Hawks momentarily took the lead early in the second when Owen Prinzen took a good, hard shot back from “D” and the puck skipped in off a Dover player. Dover evened the score with the next point when they took advantage of a power play opportunity. Dover almost had another but Jordan Laforme did everything but stand on his head keeping out that puck at one such chance.
Hagersville jumped ahead once again in the third when Brett Russell redirected the puck in after Tucker Awalt and Logan Ashworth worked it over and out front finding his stick but the lead was once again short lived when Dover answered back with one more of their own. Despite the calls given to both sides this game it was a very exciting and well-played game. Thanks for keeping the fans on the edge of their seats Hawks.
