Good Things Happen When You Work Together
It was a late game in Glanbrook for the Hagersville Hawks Atom Local League 9 team on Tuesday October 24th as they faced off against Glanbrook 7 once again.

The team came out strong as they all worked together.   The defense team of Treyanna Green with Emily Walton and Ryan Dewaard with Tristan Hoyt did some amazing work defending the Hawks end, during the game, giving Glanbrook very little room to make anything happen.  The shots Glanbrook did squeak through were immediately denied by goaltender Calvin Eggink.  Offensive players Cooper Murphy, Devyn Russell, Mason Mitchell, Conner Raspberry, Lucy Dewaard, Drew Gibbons and Emmitt Houwer continuously drove the puck into Glanbrook’s end looking for scoring opportunities.  Everyone worked together like a well-oiled machine and the score sheet was proof of their success.

In the first, Conner Raspberry put the opening point on the board almost 4 minutes in with the help of Emmitt Houwer.  The second goal, still in the first, was from Emmitt Houwer unassisted and the Hawks had a 2 -0 lead ending the period.

Scoring opportunities continued into the second when Mason Mitchell added to his team’s side with a goal of his own, unassisted, and Raspberry landed another with the help of Houwer and Treyanna-Lee Green.

The third period saw three more goals from Hagersville, the first goal was Raspberry’s assisted once again by Houwer, the second was from Drew Gibbons assisted by Devyn Russell and Mason Mitchell and the last goal of the game was from Raspberry and Houwer once again.  The Hawks left Glanbrook with a 7-0 score and another season shutout for goaltender Calvin Eggink.  Great game Hawks.

On a side note, the young Hawks are patiently awaiting the return of Quintin Salverda to add to their roster and team camaraderie.  The team is wishing a speedy recovery for you Quintin.
