The
Hagersville Hawks Atom LL9 team played host to the Cayuga 9 team on October 25,
2017. The Hawks marked the board first
when Emmitt Houwer raced down the ice on a breakaway and landed a fantastic
goal for his team unassisted.
Cayuga was quick to answer back and the score lay even ending period.
Cayuga managed to sneak one by goaltender Calvin Eggink in the second, who was phenomenal in the game making several saves prior to the goal putting Cayuga ahead going into the third.
The third saw Cayuga land one more shot giving them a 3-1 lead and as Hagersville scrambled to catch up they were able to make one more count when Houwer landed a beauty assisted by Mason Mitchell and Conner Raspberry. As the final seconds ticked away the Hawks continued to drive the Cayuga net but unfortunately could not find another point and the game ended 3-2 for Cayuga. Impressive attempt Hawks you gave it all you had.
