After reporting on the success of the Pee Wee Reps in the first two weeks of the season, I realized that I neglected to give credit to the efforts of the goaltenders. The team has been backed well by Logan Scott and Bradley Verral and that sound performance carried into week three as the Pee Wees faced off at home against St George on Wednesday, October 22. This was a fairly even match-up with both teams challenging at the net.

Hagersville got on board late in the first as Jordan Guetter worked the puck from behind the net to Keaton Garvie who slid it across to Justin Wenzowski for the shot into the net. St George came on strong in the second, intercepting passes and breaking up plays but they could not convert at the net.

Brayden Lance carried the puck in then made a back hand pass to Jacob Gallagher who sent it in for a 2-0 lead.

The Pee Wees cushioned the lead in the third as Justin Wenzowski sent the puck to Jordan Guetter who completed the play. Late in the frame, Travis Phibbs took the puck along the boards, skating in and around the defender to give Hagersville its fourth goal. Despite their effort, St George was unable to hit the net giving Logan Scott his first shutout of the season.

The team travelled to Aylmer on Friday, October 24 for what would be a challenging game with three players absent from the line-up. Hagersville worked hard but couldn't create the offense needed to take the win. Bradley Verral was impressive in the net, limiting Aylmer to three goals on numerous shots. Hagersville's only goalwas off the stick of Travis Phibbs with support from the defense. (Sorry, I wasn't there to see who got the assist.)

The Pee Wees finished the weekend with an afternoon game in St Clements against Twin Centre who are currently ranked high in the league. The home team showed why as they excelled at the puck possession. Frequent shots on the net kept LoganScott busy and, despite many quaiity savs, they were able to add to an early lead to keep the Hawks chasing. Hagersville got on board in the second as Travis Phibbs made a lead pass to Dusty McKeen who fought through coverage to lift the puckover the goalie. Dusty scored again in the third after a long shot from Owen Prinzen set up the rebound. That would be the extent to Hagersville's offense as they were hande a 5-2 loss. While it was a disappointing result, the Pee Wees are working hard and creating opportunities. With that continued effort and a determination to improve, there will be much more success for the team in the weeks ahead.
