It was a quieter week for the Pee Wees with only two games on the schedule.  The action began in Port Dover on October 29th with a rare Wednesday away game.  Hagersville took the puck into the offensive zone often but were not able to hit the target.  It was Port Dover who opened

the scoring and continued to put apply the pressure through two periods.  The home team held a 3-0 well into the third period when the Hawks took advantage of a power play to get things started.  Emma Campbell sent the puck back to Brayden Lance whose shot was re-directed by Travis Phibbs to Dusty McKeen who was positioned for the tap in.

The excitement of that goal buoyed the team to maintain the pace with Jordan Guetter skating in for a wrap-around goal to narrow the gap.  The challenge would not end there as Emma Campbell skated through coverage then passed over to Dusty McKeen who slammed the puck into the net.

Now, in an ideal world, this would finish as a comeback story but, with time still on the clock, a power play allowed Port Dover to retake the lead and skate away with the victory.  It was another disappointing loss but Hagersville could be pleased with the effort made to create an exciting finish.

The second road trip of the week was to Tillsonburg on Saturday, November 1st for a late afternoon start.  The team didn’t show the ill effects of too much Halloween fun as they kept pace with one of the top teams in the league.  Puck possession was much better for the Hawks who moved the puck well along the ice to generate several scoring opportunities.  Despite the number of shots attempted, none made it into the net resulting in a 3-0 loss.  But the Pee Wees held their heads high knowing they had played a strong game against a strong team
