Hello everyone and to all the kids that made the Atom Rep team....Congrats! It's sure to be an exciting season and although we are only a few weeks in you can already see improvement in the team.
A brief introduction to the staff
Adam is in his sixth season coaching in Hagersville and every season has had success in coaching the kids to be very competitive. Success is (in my opinion) measured by improvement and all of your kids will improve in many aspects of their game this season.
Pug is a close friend of Adams and although his intention was to help with practices while Adam selected the team he has enjoyed coaching so much that he will be staying on for the remainder of the season. He and Adam also coach an IP tyke team together and I am sure they will make a good coaching team.
Tom Young is Adam's Uncle and has been in/out of the Hagersville Minor Hockey with his own son as well as other friends in the community over several years, he always comes to the rink with smile and the kids have taken to him quite quickly. Tom will also be a great addition to the team this season.
Shannon Binek is technically your team Manager, although Tom is the rostered Manager so that he can be an active assistant on the bench, Shannon does most of the work that everyone benefits from but nobody really notices. Organizing tournaments, accomodation, assembling rosters collecting money etc etc.
Jason Gallagher is one of two trainers on the team along with myself and we have both been assisting Adam for several years.
Next is our web page...... I have already added one feature to the page which is a player statistics tab, once our roster is loaded on the page I will be able to add player statistics (goals, assists, penalty minutes, games played). Near the end of last season I heard a couple of parents weren't pleased with the statistics being on the page.... I have password protected the pages this season so that only team members can look at the statistics and and I will be sending an email out with the password.
Additional to our statistics we have a news article to add the web page which I like to add weekly. Last season I did the news articles but this season I would prefer that a parent take responsibility for that and you may remain anonymous if you wish....send me a message to let me know if you're interested, this responsibility can be shared between multiple parents on a schedule if there is lots of interest!
There will be lots more articles to add...if anyone would like to write an article to summarize our tryouts and exhibition games then please email it to me and let me know if you want to post it anonymously!
