Feb 11/12 weekend vs Stoney Creek
The Hawks had two playoff games this weekend against Stoney Creek. I was away on the weekend but have been told by a few people that the kids played really well and skated hard both games. The Hawks came out flying Saturday and had many chances to score early but ended up trailing 2-0 after the first period. Reid started our scoring mid way thru the second period and added his second of the game late in the period with both goals being assisted by Kayson and Ayden. Carter banged in his first goal of the year late in the period to pull the Hawks within a goal heading to third (great job Carter).
Reid finished off the scoring late in the third period earning the hat trick on a goal set up by Aiden and Ryley . Final score was 4-4. Great job guys and girls on a hard fought game.
Sunday we traveled to Stoney Creek for another game and this was very similar to Saturday ' s game where the Hawks came out skating hard. Goalies from both teams made some big saves to keep this game close and low scoring. The Hawks were down 1-0 late in the game but Reid scored after a mad scramble in front of the net to earn the Hawks another tie. The parents should be proud of how hard the kids have skated the last 3 games earning a win and two ties. Let's keep this play up for the rest of our playoffs. Also I would like to thanks all the fans who came out to cheer us on and the coaching staff for doing an awesome job while I was away this weekend . LETS GO HAWKS.
