Port Colborne Golden Puck Tourny
The Hawks were in their much anticipated  tournament  this  weekend  in Port Colborne .  Our first game was Friday  morning  against  Port  Colborne  and the Hawks came out flying . Emily opened the scoring with an awesome play  off  the  boards  which led to a breakaway  and she made no mistake . Kayson used his speed in the second period scoring another goal on a  break away and added his second goal late in  the period. Both teams battled hard in the third and skated to a 4-4 tie. Our second game was Saturday morning

And the Hawks again  came out skating hard against Tillsonburg .  Reid  got our first goal with a hard shot that eluded the goalie. Tillsonburg  battled back and took a 4-1 lead after the first period. The Hawks started  the second period on a power play and made quick work .  Landen  had a good shot and Aiden was there to bury the rebound. The Hawks kept adding pressure and gaining momentum  in which led to 2 goals by Landen. The Hawks kept adding pressure trying to tie the game and had a couple of close calls with the goalie pulled but fell just short losing 5-4. Saturday afternoon the Hawks played against New Hamburg and again they played hard. Carter got our first goal with some hard work in front of the net. Thomas made a good save on a break away but Tillsonburg  was there for the rebound to give them the lead after one. Reid scored late in the second to pull the Hawks within two goals. The Hawks came out hard in the third period but we unable to score losing 4-2. We are very proud of how hard  the  kids  skated  all weekend and with us being a very young team we never give up and always have fun playing. Thanks to all the families  and grandparents  who came out to cheer  us  on  this  weekend ,  the kids enjoy having  you  there . It was a  great weekend getting to watch the kids have fun swimming and playing at the hotel. It was also nice to get to spend time getting to know the parents from both teams from Hagersville .  Looking forward to our remaining playoff games. LET'S  GO  HAWKS .  I would also like to thank all those that helped me celebrate my "birthday" at Montana's, (the one I didn't know I had).
