Hagersville Arena was the place for the Pee
Wee’s last scheduled game of the playoffs on Wednesday, March 4th. The team was looking for another win to
maintain their position at the top of the division but the visitors from Cayuga
were hoping for a win themselves. An
early power play gave the Pee Wee Hawks the opportunity to create offense
making several shots on net. Midway
through the period, Travis Phibbs took the puck from the neutral zone and
carried it in to score
Cayuga scored before the end of the first and carried that momentum into the second often winning the race to the puck. Bradley Verral was ready in net for any remaining shots and Hagersville continued to make the goalie work hard at the other end. Early in the third, Travis Phibbs passed the puck back to Dawson McKeen whose shot from the blue line slid through the 5-hole.
A few minutes later, Dusty McKeen took a pass from Kalvin Logan and found the net. Brayden Lance got in on the act, assisted by Owen Prinzen, to earn the fourth goal. Jacob Gallagher put in a rebound from Kalvin Logan to cap off the scoring. The team now waits as the final games in the schedule are played to find out who they will meet in the semi-finals. Good luck Pee Wees and keep up the great work.
