GOALIE BATTLE IN GLANBROOK
Monday night the Peewee Hawks flew into Glanbrook and the goalies were both on their game.  These teams both hit the ice with one thing in mind...... shoot shoot shoot.  Shots on net for Glanbrook 19 and for Hagersville 13 but there were a lot of shots at both ends narrowly missing the net and lots of scoring opportunities.

This was a really exciting game as both goalies kept the fans on the edge of their seats...... breakaways, rebounds and narrowly missed shots around the net gave both teams plenty of opportunity for the win.  The Hawks were on the board early thanks to some hard work by Carly followed up by smart puck movement in the offensive zone ending in a goal for Ryan.  This was another Glanbrook team that showed great speed from their forwards but they could not find the twine in the first period, end to end play with great long ice passing was exciting to watch and the goalies had lots of work left to do following the first period.

Less than 2 minutes into the second the lead was padded on a PP goal by Chase Broker and the goalie battle continued.... Adriano with a breakaway scoring opportunity robbed by a patient Glanbrook goalie and the puck turns the other way for a big pad save on a hard shot, with Nolan down and out of the play Kaiden swooped in and stole a scoring opportunity in turn as Glanbrook was ready to pounce on the rebound.  The ensuing puck battle in front of the net bounced over the sprawling Hawks goalie and back to a one goal lead.  Both team continued to leave a Center high and the passing game continued, as attacks went back and forth keeping all the players involved in the play.  Glanbrook fighting to even the score and Hagersville battling back to extend the lead for some security.

Into the third period and the battle continues in an increasing intense game, 2 penalties to Hagersville leads to a 5 on 3 advantage for Glanbrook.  They push for the comeback goal, pressing hard and firing pucks from everywhere Nolan turned away the shots and the defense cleared the rebounds to safety to kill the 48 second 2 man advantage.  With time winding down in the 3rd period Levi Eggink scored an unassisted goal for some security and the defense kept everything away from the net to finish the period.
