LEAVING IT ALL ON ICE
With this being the last game going into a lengthy break the kids showed up ready to leave it all on the ice.  The spirit in the dressing has been light and fun and coach Keith has done a great job bringing these kids together as teammates and friends.  It sure does show in their gameplay.  Joking laughing and bringing one another up on and off the ice, the aren't just playing like a team......... they are a team!  With their next game being 11 days after this one they played their hearts out, unfortunately it was at the expense of their hometown opponent.

This game didn't start like most of the others of late, there was no figuring anyone out or hesitation........ they were on the attack early and often as we outshot the visiting Hawks 25 - 9 in 30 minutes of play.  The White team wasn't without chances, they found themselves with a breakaway just a few minutes into the game and had first chance to open the scoring but Nolan was ready and turned the rebound to the corner.  Chase picked it up in the corner and turned up ice, across the red line for the dump in and the pressure was on, several failed attempts to clear led to a goal for Ryan with assists to Dean and Kaiden..........   two more quick goals through the middle part of the first period for Cody Chase, another assist added to the gamesheet for Ryan Mattice and the Hawks in Black were just spreading their wings.

Second period was much of the same, solid team defense turning pucks back over the defensive blueline, good pressure by the forward after the puck goes deep into offensive territory and the defending goalie didn't stand a chance with black sweaters circling their prey.  Pucks going to the net with every opening in the defense and kids in black waiting for the rebound.  Total dominance in the second period, 3 more goals on the board and 10 minutes to go for the weary defense on the visiting bench.  Goals awarded to Chase, Connor and Dean and assists for Kaiden, Jack and Ryan Mattice with his 3rd assist and 4th point of the game to finish the period.

Into the third period and more of the same for most of the period, as it usually happens the opponents start to get some urgency to avoid being shut out but not today, Nolan stayed calm as he usually does and his defense handled the rebounds as they always do.  A couple of chances late in the game but not before the boys and girls in black put two more tally's on the scoresheet and finish with a big celebration for the third consecutive shutout.  Third period goals for Connor and Jack and assists for Dean, Chase and Connor.

Ryan 4 points - 1 goal, 3 assists
Dean 3 points - 1 goal, 2 assists
Connor 3 points - 2 goals, 1 assist
Chase 3 points - 2 goals, 1 assist
Jack 2 points - 1 goal, 1 assist
Kaiden 2 assists
Cody 1 goal

Next game will be at the Murray Johnson Tournament Friday November 24th @ 4 PM
